Tested: Proviz REFLECT360 Waterproof Cycling Trousers
My friend Lynsey was kind enough to test out the Proviz Women’s REFLECT360 Cycling Trousers. She commutes regularly to work, often in the rain. She tried them out in different temperatures. Here are her opinions.
What I like:
- The material appears to be of a good quality. They are not going to last me for years, but they are good enough.
- The drawstring waist is great.
- Leg vents are an excellent feature. They allowed me to keep my legs dry and cool while cycling through the rain.
- Proviz delivers on its promise of bright, large reflective surfaces.
- I like pockets.
- It is also a great bonus that the material does not rustle when cycling.
- With velcro, the tapered ankles allow you to customize the fit.
- The seat area is reinforced, so it will be more durable.
What I dislike:
These trousers have been worn in temperatures of -4C to 0C. It was raining heavily at 6C, so I thought that the trousers would keep me dry. Due to the temperatures, I wore shorts under.
The material is not suitable for bare skin, as it causes you to sweat. The fact is that I sweated quite a bit and by the time I reached the six-mile mark, the inside of my trousers were damp and sticky.
Conclusion:
They are comfortable to wear, and have plenty of stretch and adjustability. Reflective features are great.
These are great for keeping out the rain in cold, wet weather. Best worn over leggings. The fabric does not breathe as well when worn with shorts or bare legs. The quality is good for the price.
